Hon. Prof. M.S. Bokarius Kharkiv Research Institute of Forensic Examination Meets Guests from Mykolas Romeris University (Republic of Lithuania)

On November 26, 2019 the delegation from Mykolas Romeris University gave a visit to Hon. Prof. M.S. Bokarius Kharkiv Research Institute of Forensic Examination, which consisted of: Doctor of Law Prof. Hendryk Malevski and Doctor of Law Prof. Egidijus Kurapka. Prof. Valery Shepitko, Doctor of Law, Academician of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Head of Criminalistics Department of Yaroslav the Wise National Law University was also in the meeting.
The guests became acquainted with scientific and expert activities of Kharkiv RIFE, visited laboratories, where they familiarized with innovative experience in holding expertises. They were genuinely intrigued by the polygraph and an opportunity to use it in psychophysiological investigations. In the crime laboratory, the guests were showcased modern equipment, which are used to hold ballistic, blast, drugs, psychotropic substances and its analogues or precursors examinations.
When going to the library of Kharkiv RIFE, the guests paid their attention to rare unique editions of scientific literature, which still hold good. These are namely: “Social context of crime” by M.M. Gernet, first editions of “Archives of Forensic Medicine and Criminology” edited by M.S. Bokarius etc.
The honored delegation also attended the office-museum of Hon. Prof. M.S. Bokarius, the founder of the institute, where they learned about life and career of the professor.
As a result, within the framework of the valid Cooperation agreement between Hon. Prof. M.S. Bokarius Kharkiv Research Institute of Forensic Examination and Mykolas Romeris University, it was agreed that Prof. Hendryk Malevski and Egidijus Kurapka join the Editorial Board of the collection of scientific papers “Theory and Practice of Forensic Science and Criminalistics”, which is issued by joint efforts of Kharkiv RIFE and Yaroslav the Wise National Law University. This meeting became another step in strengthening the bonds between our universities, facilitated the processes of enriching and exchanging scientific practical experience.
